Happy New Year!

Good bye 2008 and welcome 2009. So many things happened during this year. From the very beginning to the end . It was a year full of first time. 1st time I was separated from my husband, first time I lived with my in laws, 1st time I experience how it feels being a single mother. The first time I hold Sophia among other first time.
I am so thankful for so many blessing that I experienced this year, perhaps the most beautiful blessing is that I had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and though him I endured to the end.
I am ready for a new year...I think

The Gratest Gift of All

"Billy you had made some friends...Friendship is the greatest gift of all" Santa said to the little boy in The polar express movie. How do I know this line so perfectly well let say I have watched this movie about 3 or 4 times this past week with my little Danielle, but that is not what I would like to write about. When I moved to the States almost 7 years ago, I could count my friends with the fingers of one hand. Through the years I develop long lasting friendship my dear friend Corrine, my dear friend Mary, My fun and nice lady friend Pam, my great friends in Nicaragua Nohelia and Brenda. This year however, the list increased drastically. I met Rachel Price in Virginia a wonderful woman, great mother and great friend too who gives herself fully, non member I should add with great values. Rachel reminded me how important is to be and have a good friend specially when you are in a new place. Rachel touched my life so deep that I decided I would be that kind of friend in my next move. Pittsburgh was my experimental area. I forgot about myself and my self-pity, I forgot that my husband is gone, that I was new in a new city etc, because I realize that there were so many ladies who needed a friend. "Everyone needs a friend" Pte. Hinckley said and I came to realize what a truthful statement that is. There is always someone. Someone who needs to be listen to, someone who needs to be helped, someone who needs company, someone who needs to laugh, someone who needs love, someone who needs to talk or like to TALK, someone who needs to be served, someone who needs a girls night out. I am glad that I came to Pittsburgh, I am glad that I listen to the prompts of the Spirit and and follow them. I knew Heavenly Father wanted me to come here, initially I thought it was so that we can save money and for me and the girls not be in our own while Charles is in school and that is right, but there were so much more. I believe, now, the main reason was to grow as a individual, as woman, as a mother and wife as a friend as a member of the church! I have learned so much in this ward, I am not bragging at all I have all my life ahead to learn even more. I am just so happy to know why I was sent here. My mother in law who is such wise a wonderful lady had tough me so much by doing rather than saying She is always baking something for someone she si always giving 100% for her cub scout meeting, she is always have the right answer and she gave me a farewell party last night . It was so much fun we laughed so hard with all her great ideas, it was so much fun to see the ladies that came have fun, laughed and mingle with each other. (notice how many times I use the word FUN).
I guess I should finish this blog I just wnat to say that we all are different yet we all are daughters of the same Heavenly Father, there are so much we can do with all our talents paaprhasing Pte. Uchdorft I discovered I too can create something... eve a Smile

Christmas Dresses

Gram went shopping for my little girls and she came home with two beautiful Christmas dresses for Danielle and Sophia. check it out. I wanted them to match , so I look everywhere for a cute dress with a reasonable price I could not find them, but gram did... she pleased me even thought she is not much into matching dresses. Just because of this from now one she get to pick and choose to give the girls whatever she likes. I certainly appreciate how much she care for what I want and like. Here are some picture of the girls in their Christmas dresses. Thanks Gram Teresa

WInter Wonderland!

It has been snowing for the last few days, so we haven't gone out since um I guess yesterday when I had to take Danielle to the Dr. since she was complaining of earache which ended up being both ear infected. We did go to church for sacrament, in our way home ( not really on the way) we stopped at wallgreen to get her medicine. Once at home we had a video conference with Charles.
Today, I wanted to go to the outlet mall since it is the warmest day of the week ( 40 the highest) according to our forecast, but Danielle did not feel like it so we got to stay home. At least they took a nap and I read my book, and write on my journal and write later to Josh...
Here are some picture of our winter wonderland and the girls
Here is Danielle Gram and Pawpaw having fun tin the snow

Last week recap

We were quite busy last week. We had dinner or lunch at each of our friends house. We had play group and school etc. On Saturday we had dinner with Mandy and Madeline and their kids and the we headed toward the chapel for Jenny Kish a lady who has been visiting the church quite a while, but couldn't get baptize because her husband wouldn't allow her. Due to her faith and perseverance she "partook of the fruit" It was so wonderful to be part of this special event all of us were so supportive of her we brought dessert and had a celebration after wards. Her faith and desire to choose the right was a great reminder of how I should feel regarding the blessing of having a testimony and the gospel in my life.
Sunday we went to church under snow showers...ever since it has been snowing, so we have done little to almost nothing this week, except for yesterday Danielle had ballet class and the parents are guesses were allow to watch the performance it was so cute then we headed to Chick File A to celebrate. I am doine for now thisis not really relaxing when i have both of my aughter sitting on my lap crying as I attemp to wrap thi s up

Re-Vacuum?!

Everything started last friday when I decided to take my car to walmart for an oil change; since, my car has so many miles in it I chose to do the "high mileage service" thinking it will help my car bit more. Teresa, the girls and I went shopping for the almost 3 hours while my car was at the shop. I picked up my car, and I noticed they did not vacuumed it, I thought oh not big deal, but I did not look at my recipe. When i got home I saw my recipe and there was a list of all the things they supposedly did to my car included vacuum. I got upset and called Walmart regarding this. My point was and I should say is that what guaranty me that this person did everything that he was suppose to do when he said he did something that he did not do. I talked a manager who told me they will give me a full service again blablabla, so I brought it back on Monday and here it is where the fun part began. After telling the manager what happened about my car not being vacuum and on top of that my only six months old battery that we bought at walmart not working. I was told they will take care of it.
Half hour later I got called to let me know that my car is done everything is fine and ready to be picked up. When I get the person who helped me out was a different "MANAGER". HE SAID THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN RE-VACCUM I said you mean it has been vacuum, because they did not do it the first tie that is why I brought back. The guy looked at me a bit upset for my correction and he is "NO IT IS BEEN REVACCUM WHICH MEANS THEY ARE VACUUMING NOW" I SAID yes because they didn't do it the first time. The guy looked at me with an attitude and told me again my car is being re-vacuum and gave me the same explanation. I told to myself, just forget about it. This dude probably didn't approve grammar or whatever, juts let it be not worthy. However, it makes me upset because he saw with those eyes and he did probably thought this "Mexican don't now how to speak my language RRRRR" I hate WALMART.

What a day

Gosh it started at 5 am when i woke up and I could not go back to sleep, so I told myself why don't you get up and work out now that the girls are sleeping? Well... I did, but I just barely started to work out (maybe 20 mint into it) when Danielle woke up and started to whining she wanted cereal, then she did not like that cereal, then she wanted something to drink oh my gosh I am getting mad just by typing all these. Suffice to say that it was a very hard day, but it is finally over both girls are sleeping and maybe I will get to relax before I'll go to bed. Perhaps the best thing that happened today
is that Charles got 92 in his very difficult test of microbiology, so YEAH one good news! now I am going to have a big bowl of icecream and big chunk of brownies to compensate my day

THE CIRCUS

It ha been some years since I went to the circus. The magic was still there. I laughed so hard with the clowns. They had special contest "Dancig with the Clown" You might agree that Cloris would have won the contest. The trapecist did not disappointed me at all . It was so ooo much fun. here are some pict.

Halloween is over

But we had lots of fun, it was an eventful week. It starter the saturday before Halloween. Our neighborhood celebrated Halloween at the park (across the street from where we live) there was a camp fire, a spooky blow out castle, lots of food from hot dogs to pizza, pies etc. Danielle had lots of fun playing with the other kids, Sophia was mesmerized by the camp fire, Teresa and Michael enjoyed all the neighbors. We went for a hayride you get the idea.
Tuesday was our Halloween party at school , my friend Mandy was in charge we had lots fun there. Wednesday was our trunk or treat at Church, we had a chili dinner and we ended up trick or treating in side because it was freezing cold and wet outside due to our very first snow fall of the season.
Thursday, I baby sat y friend Melissa' kid. Friday went trick or treat around our neighborhood after a visit to the dr office Danielle had an ear ache ended up being and ear infection, Sophia's ear are just fine. Going back to our Halloween celebration, we came home and Michael was already set. He was G.I. JOE (check out the pict). Our neighbor Lauren and her family invited us to go around the neighborhood with them, so we did. We ended the night with a video conference with Charles.
Yesterday we went to the "greatest show on earth" THE CIRCUS. Danielle favorite thing was "the elephant painting". Thanks Paw Paw for taking us.

Sisters!

Couple of weeks ago I was walking in the mall with my two princess when a lady from people pictures approached me and gave a coupon for a free 8x10. We got the picture taken a week later and I was finally able to scan it. The story behind the picture is as follow. Danielle was holding Sophia, but Sophia was not very happy about being so close to Danielle, so she pushed herself away from her sister falling in her legs and this was the result! We loved it

Video Conference

Today, We were able to have a video conference with my sweetheart. Danielle spent about 30 min. talking and looking at her daddy dancing for him and just having fun through our apple computer! He was able to see Sophia and I was just full of joy to enjoy the blessing of seeing him again. It has been almost 4 months since we saw him last, so we are very grateful for technology for allowing us to have this family experience. Only we know how much we miss each other and how lonely we feel at times even though we are surrounding by people. I am still trying to get a hop ( military flight) to go to see him in October. Hopefully we will get one and we can see each other soon.

God's Happiness

I just came back from a delightful night! I went out to dinner with my mother in law. We had such a nice and uplifting conversation and then we headed out to the church to be spiritually nurture by our leaders during Relief Society Conference. May I just say how much I appreciate to be reminded of my great heritage, to know that I can be an instrument in the hand of the Lord to Answer someone's prayer and by "uplifting someone I raise myself a little higher! That is God's happiness for me and for all of you my dear friends to help other, to serve others, to share with others daughters of God that they too are loved and they too can be creative!
There is saying that goes It is nice to be important, but it is important to be nice! I will end this blog quoting president Uchtdorf
"Lift up your chin, walk tall, God loves you..."

Indignity

A few nights ago Danielle and Grandpa were playing with a blanket. Danielle decided she was a "MONSTER" and was chasing grandpa, so he grabbed her and put her in the Texas game room ( yes the house is so big it has a room with things that resembles Texas even the flag is every where) Anyway. So here is the conversation between grandpa and Danielle.
Danielle: I am a Monster
Grandpa: I don't want monsters in my house ( grabbed her put her in the other room)
Danielle comes back into the kitchen and asked Grandpa
Danielle with her hands on her hips asked: Why did you put me outside...I am not a DOG
I laughed so hard

Sophia is 3 months

Believe it or not she is 3 months old as September 1st. She looks so grown up. Actually yesterday we were having tummy time on the floor and I decided to hold her hand and make her stand on her feet, for my amusement she gave to steps on her own. I know you might think that is just my imagination, but not she actually did it! Today while I was giving her a bath she look at me trought the mirror and gave me a huge smile. My baby is growing too soon. I will post picture but my stupid camara stop working again, the worst thing is that I just got it back fro the repair shop. anyways .

What a night

So, on wednesday after exploring around our new city ( I haven't posted that we moved to Pittsburgh Pensylvania two weeks ago) and having so much fun with our knew friends, we ( my girls and I) came to an empty house since Mike and Teresa left to Colorado to visit Jonathan, who is in the AIRFORCE ACADEMY. I put Danielle to bed and came down stairs (our bedroom is in the third floor) with Sophia in my arms to turned off all the lights and secure the doors when suddenly I felt down the stairs not remembers details I just remebere that i COULDN'T shelter my baby or avoid in any way for her to get hurt. Those 3 seconds were the most terrifying of my entire life. ONce in the floor I started to scream so hard with so much pain because I knew Sophia was hurt the only think I could think of was call 911. I crawled the remainnig steps with my baby in arms to were the phone was, and picked it up and dialed I was a nervous wrack I have never been in such stage before all I could think of was that I caused brain injury to my baby.
Police came paramedics came and they were checking me when all wanted was for them to check my baby what in our way to the hospitalmy brain kept playing over and over again those 3 second and I could not stop crying.
Sophia, thank to Heavenly Father, was just fine she did not get even scratch her motor skills seems to be just fine and her behavior normal, no bumps on her head or anything I hit my head, my back m y bottom etc no major injuries. The dr said it will take 3 weeks until I fully recover.
Our friend Lisa, whos is the RS 2nd counselor, came to the hospital to help me with the girls and took us to her house to spend the night there, but before she took me to the Pickkets house so that I could get a blessing.
Let me tell you how much my testimony has increased on Garments and blessings. I am up and running ( well not really running but you know what I mean) all the areas that I got hurt was were garments cover except for my head that still hurts and feels numb.
If this was not enough, Danielle woke up yesterday with fever 102. I felt we came home we all took showers wore pj all day long. I felt so lonely and sad all I wanted was my husband next to me and my mother to cry on her shoulder. Don't get me wrong I am so thankful for Heavenly watching over me the fact that we are just fine after such a fall is a great blessing! I ended up the day singing hymns specially count your blessings, so that my sadness were replace for gratitud.
Today is more promissing Danielle still sick, but she does not have other symptoms than the fever. I guess we will stay home all day long and just enjoy the tranquility of being here and rest.
I typed this perhaps to give closure to such a chapter in my life and keep moving forward. Now I am going to call my mom since I feel less emotional.
I will post picture of the beautiful place where we live and its sourrounding areas maybe later. There are lots of tree every where, beautiful vegetations, fun pools with waves, a wonderful friendly ward great brand new friends who welcomed us with open arms etc it is wonderful to be able to count blessings they become uncountable.

Sophia is 2 months

Sophia is two months old tomorrow, but today she had her 2 months old check up she is 95 % in weight ( she weights 11 lbs 11 oz) and 90 % in height ( she is 22 1/2 inches long). In general, she is doing great, except for her constipation. She is suppose to get vaccines at this time, but I was told since she is not 2 months until tomorrow, they would not give her vaccines, so I have to go back tomorrow (not happening) or Monday. Now they don't realize how hard it is for a mom to go to a dr. office with a 3 years old and a baby. Usually is not that hard, but I have to travel between 20 - 30 minutes to get to base and then get a permit to go in ( which implies to get both girls out of the car) and then drive for another 5 - 10 min (depend on traffic) to get to the dr. office is really no fun. Thankgoodness my dear friend Rachael came back from vacation and she will be watching my very inquisitive and hungry for knowledge Danielle.

Happy 6th Anniversary !

I can't believe that we have been married for 6 years already! and Charles gave me the best anniversary present. He is number 31 out of 88 students in his class and his avarage is 88.5 ( very competitive class) This make me so happy because it makes our separation so worthy! I am so proud of him and I am happy that he is proud of himself and realizing that he too can do it. We still have a long way to go, but the reward will be wonderful at the end of this road. I know we are not the first family to be apart on special ocassion, so I am at peace with myself thought I miss him.
He is doing all this to provide a better future for us and I thank him for doing so.
Happy anniversary sweetheart!

The NKOTB are back!

Yes they are and if you are fan of them like I am you will go back on time by listening to all their songs. Let me tell you I was so shock when I read about it on my friend Mary's blog. I could not wait one more minute and I went to you tube to check out their new single "Summer Time" and of course some of the old songs. Before We realized we ( My friend Rachael and I) were jamming with their song and dancing "The right stuff" oh oh oh ....I couldn't helped to go back on time my goodness I was only 13 years old when they were in their peak of their career. I could barely understand the lyric of their song, but still hum them. There is a saying in spanish that translated it goes something like "To remember is to live again" and I did re-lived by listening to all those songs. I was so excited by the memories that I felt like teenager again (for a short period only).
I have to say that Joey looks as hot as you can imagine I had a crushed on him when were kids, wait a minute I still have a crush on him. I do disagree with Mary I think they are not too old to do this stuff they are just right Mary. (hahaha)
Anyway, I hope you too can re- lived all those beautiful teenagers years.

Up date

Well the last couple of weeks have been crazy. Lots of drama, stress, sleepless night and days etc. Charles came to visit us for 4 days last week. It was so nice to see my husband again! we went to Buch Garden, the beach, to dinner and just be. Danielle was so happy to spend time with her daddy she even smile in every picture we took. Sophia was neglected a little bit ( I took only one picture of her and her daddy).
Charles is back in Sa Antonio, Texas where he is attending school. We to join him soon in a few months.
Sophia has colics as a result of cesarea, thankfully grandma realized why she was so fussy before I did. Now she is taking some gas relief drop and life is a bit easier. See Danielle did not have this problem.
Danielle is doing great! loving her sister too much which implies time out and some spanking (unfurtnatrly) can't wait for this part to get better.

Me , I have not been able to drink milk or eat ice cream for 28 days now. I guess I don't need the calories, but oh boy I surely wish I can drink a big glass of milk with a whole package of OREO COOKIES.

5 pictures

My friend Corrine , who is in Hawaii for 6 months or more enjoying some deserve vacation. Tag me to post 5 pictures. Mine are no of the house; since it is not my house. However, here are five pictures of our favorite monments from last week.
